- About
Big Hearts Community Trust often talks about the power of community, and my story is a perfect example of what this looks like in real life.
I first connected with Hearts through something simple: a neighbour inviting me along to a match at Tynecastle. From that moment, a new chapter began. In a short space of time, football became more than just a game; it became a source of belonging and friendship. I found myself a community I now proudly calls family, alongside a new love for following Hearts.
Before this chapter, I faced significant personal challenges. I reached a wake-up call; a moment that prompted me to change my lifestyle, improve my health, and take control of my well being. Since then, I have taken on numerous walking challenges, including every Kiltwalk, and Hadrian’s Wall.
This year, I plan to push myself further than ever before.
In the last week of May and the first week of June, I will walk two of Scotland’s most iconic long-distance trails: the West Highland Way followed immediately by the Great Glen Way, back to back, with no rest days. The journey will begin in Milngavie and finish in Inverness, covering approximately 175 miles over 13 nights.
I'm doing it to push myself, and to give something back to a community that has supported me, welcomed me, and helped shape who I am today.
By supporting my challenge, you’re not only backing an incredible personal effort, but you’re also helping Big Hearts Community Trust continue delivering community-led programmes that bring people together, create connection, and change lives.
If you’re able to donate or share, thank you for helping Big Hearts support people through the power of community.
